Can anyone tell me which cylinders apply to the three Jake Brake settings on an isx? Obviously High is all 6 but was wondering which cylinders are activated on medium and low. My guess is low-4,5+6 medium-2,3,4,5+6
I have an engine which is Jaking harder on the low setting than the medium setting so just wondering which extra cylinders are cut in on medium.
So far I have changed the control valves and springs and also swapped solenoids.
Cheers

I'm not positive, but I believe it doesn't go by cylinders. It goes by revolutions.
It goes every revolution on high, every second revolution on medium, and every third revolution on low. That's how it was explained to me....but that was from a very knowledgable parts man at Cummins. It made sense....but......I have never read it anything except what westcoast said.

Thanks guys, I ended up using the website "Just Answer" and also calling the Cummins Tech line and they both came up with the same response...
Low =cyl #1
Med = cyl #2+3
High = all cylinders

Now I just have to work out why Medium sounds like it is Jaking on one cylinder and Low sounds like two.
So far I have tried swapping solenoids and I have replaced all six control valves and springs.

Cheers

P.S. you can't get the wiring back to front so that's not the problem.

This is what i was thinking also. Some trucks and freightliner is one of them will have a six position selector switch. The engine brakes have three selnoilds with three circuits to them. So you can get six setting with three senolds unless you use a ever other strke on some of them for six selections.Some trucks only have three postions for the selector switch.
